Editorial Standards

The Archive uses restrained, victim-centered language and publishes only material approved for public access.

Victim-centered record

Coverage should preserve the victim’s identity, life, and memorial context. It should not sensationalize violence, turn suffering into spectacle, or make the victim responsible for the harm committed against them.

Legal and factual precision

Allegations are not presented as adjudicated facts. Wording should identify whether information comes from police statements, court records, filings, testimony, reporting, or another documented source. Uncertainty, conflicts, and changing legal status remain visible where they are material.

Sensitive material

Records involving minors, graphic material, private personal information, or exceptional fair-use questions require deliberate review. Public value does not automatically outweigh dignity, safety, privacy, or legal risk.

Publication authority

Kenya is the sole publication authority. Warnings are advisory and nonblocking unless Kenya explicitly approves enforcement. No separate automated publication gate or additional approval workflow governs the Archive.
